CCSA’s new building will open in September!
School is out for the summer now, but the work at CCSA – and especially at our new campus – continues apace! If you haven’t driven through the West End of Chester in recent months you may have missed that our new school campus is just weeks away from completion. If you have taken exit 3 off I-95, you won’t have missed it.
The flag pole has been raised and the athletic field seeded, and installation of the red exterior panels complete the facade. Inside, the final walls are being painted, the final floors are being laid, the science labs are fully equipped, and the barres in the dance studios are in place!
We can’t wait to see the faces of CCSA’s 600 students as they cross the threshold in September. CCSA has built an exceptional program over the last five years. Now we have built a facility to match it. CCSA students will have an ever-more positive experience of school and will develop a deeper understanding of what the world has to offer – and of their own potential – in this outstanding learning environment.
All this has been made possible through the support of our incredible campaign donors, who together have given or pledged $5.8 million to date towards our $7 million fundraising goal.
Having worked in Chester as Lang Scholars at Swarthmore College many years ago, seeing this building rise from a vacant lot in a particularly depressed neighborhood in the city is deeply moving for us. We want to say a tremendous thank you to all who have contributed to the capital campaign to date – as well as to the many, many people who support CCSA’s children in a multitude of other ways. Together, we are truly building bright futures.
